The outputs of the IE2512 module provide a pulse width modulated version of a binary signal. The keying ratio is prescribed by a 10 bit value from the automation unit. The output is protected against overload and short circuit. In addition to the PWM operating mode, the outputs can also be frequency modulated or used to control stepper motors with specified pulses and direction. The module contains two channels that indicate their state by means of light emitting diodes. The LEDs are driven in time with the outputs and show the keying ratio by their brightness.
