The EP3744-3041 EtherCAT Box, with six digital inputs, two digital outputs, and four pressure inputs, acquires these signals and transmits them to the controller under electrical isolation. The signal status is indicated by LEDs, while the signal interface for the digital signals utilizes 4-pin M8 screw type connectors.

The pressure is measured as an absolute value or as a differential pressure measurement relative to the fifth connection via an integrated 6 mm fitting. The pressure values are available as 16-bit values. Measurement can take place between -12 and +12 bar, with the value output relative to the fifth connection. In absolute pressure mode, pressures between 0 and 12 bar can be measured.

The EP3744-3041 is therefore ideal for monitoring the system pressure in pneumatic applications, e.g. to diagnose leaks or other faults. The integrated outputs allow error messages to be displayed on site using indicator lights, for example. The operating mode is preselected via CoE parameters. If the supply voltages fall below a certain level (< 18.5 V) a diagnostic bit is set.
