CU1521-0020 | Infrastructure, media converter, 3-port junction, Ethernet/EtherCAT, 1000/100 Mbit/s, 24 V DC, SFP

The CU1521-0020 is a 3-port Ethernet device with two SFP slots and serves as a universal media converter and junction for EtherCAT and Industrial Ethernet. It was specially developed for use in pairs in EtherCAT networks, especially when special transmission technologies such as BiDi fiber optics are used, for which standard couplers (e.g. EK1501/1501-0010) or media converters (e.g. CU1521/CU1521-0010) are not suitable.

Only SFP modules approved by Beckhoff may be used for operation.

The EtherCAT transmission direction (copper to SFP, SFP to copper, SFP to SFP) and the “Link Loss Forwarding” function for normal Ethernet operation can be conveniently configured via a rotary switch on the device.

To ensure compatibility with EtherCAT, the media converter operates collision-free with a constant delay and functions as an independent EtherCAT device. In contrast to standard media converters, this enables fast link control even in the event of a fault, ensuring safe termination of the EtherCAT segment and seamless continued operation.

The device is supplied without SFP modules, but with SFP dust caps inserted.
