The EtherCAT technology enables the realization of cable redundancy. For this purpose, an additional cable connection is established from the last EtherCAT Slave to the Master. In the event of a cable breakage, the telegrams are sent seamlessly via the alternative connection.
TS6220 expands the TwinCAT EtherCAT master by the option to realize cable redundancy for up to 250 EtherCAT devices (slaves). TS6221 extends the TwinCAT EtherCAT master for up to 1000 devices and TS6222 for more than 1000 EtherCAT devices. Configuration and diagnostics take place in the TwinCAT System Manager.
