EJ1xxx | EtherCAT plug-in modules, digital input

The EtherCAT plug-in modules of the EJ1xxx series are intended for the acquisition of binary signals. Typically, these are mechanical contacts such as break contacts or make contacts, electronic sensors such as inductive proximity switches, optical sensors or other methods in order to generate a low/high signal in the sense of control technology. This signal is transmitted via the network, in this case EtherCAT, to the higher-level automation device for further processing. The variants differ in terms of signal thresholds, number of channels, connection options and/or input filter times. Additional functions such as safety or combined input/output modules round off the portfolio.

In terms of technology, the EJxxxx EtherCAT plug-in modules are usually based on the ELxxxx EtherCAT Terminals with matching name. This allows initial tests to be carried out with EL terminals, while the corresponding EJ module on the signal distribution board is used in subsequent series production.
