The EP3744-1041 EtherCAT Box, equipped with six digital inputs, two digital outputs and four pressure inputs, acquires these signals and transmits them – electrically isolated – to the controller. The signal status is indicated by LEDs; the digital signals are connected via 4-pin M8 screw type connectors.

The pressure is measured as the differential pressure to the fifth connection by an integrated 6 mm fitting. The pressure values are available as 16-bit values. Measurement can be made between -7…7 bar, with the value being output in relation to the fifth connection, e.g. for vacuum measurement in relation to the ambient pressure at suction grippers. In absolute-pressure mode it is possible to measure pressures between 0…7 bar.

The operating mode is preselected via CoE parameters. If the supply voltages fall below a certain level (< 18.5 V) a diagnostic bit is set.
